Ivan Lupandin was born on September 5, 1957, in Odessa. In 1980 he graduated from the Moscow University Faculty of Physics. He worked fist as engineer at a scientific and industrial center and later as senior editor at the Natural Sciences Library of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1981-1988) and in the same period (from 1982-1988) received training at the extramural post-graduate course of the Institute of the History of Natural Sciences and Technology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1990 he defended the Candidate of Philosophy’s dissertation on “Atomism and Continualism in the Medieval Philosophy”. Since 1993 he has worked as associate professor at the Chair of Philosophy of the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute.

He is married, has three children and three grandchildren.

Sphere of academic interests: history of philosophy, periodization of the history of philosophy, history of European culture.

Academic works: Collected lectures on the natural philosophy (Moscow, 2007), numerous articles in the Catholic Encyclopaedia, several translations and editing works.
