The International Department is a CMI structural unit responsible for developing and implementing the strategy of the CMI international work, fostering academic contacts with theological and secular educational institutions abroad, organizing professors and students exchange and in-depth training and other multilateral and bilateral activities as part of international projects carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements. 

The basic tasks of the International Department are as follows:

  • To develop contacts with educational institutions and international organizations abroad in the area of academic work and training, to work out draft agreements, to prepare and conclude partnership agreements and working programs of cooperation;
  • To involve leading scholars and academic staff from abroad in reading lectures and attending academic conferences and seminars held by the CMI;
  • To help the CMI chairs, faculty, staff and students in taking part in international programs and projects, such as reading lectures, undergoing in-depth training, taking courses, conducting academic studies, preparing educational aids and other educational and methodological materials and implementing other mutually beneficial projects; 
  • To provide logistical support for the CMI international cooperation, such as hosting official delegations from abroad, conducting cooperation negotiations and organizing international events at the CMI;
  • To provide visa assistance, to host and register guests who come to the CMI from abroad for in-depth training, taking a course, conducting academic research and organizing international events and other activities.
