Winner of the Metropolitan Macarius (Bulgakov) Prize in the History of Moscow nomination (1997). Participant and leader of many international projects on the history of science and higher education carried out with the support of the Russian State Humanitarian Foundation, DFG, DAAD, Gerda-Henkel-Stiftung, Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, Swiss National Science Foundation, and the German Historical Institute in Moscow.

Author of over 100 academic publications.

Spheres of academic interests – history of the higher education in Russia and Western Europe, history of the social thought, policy and culture in Russia in the first half of the 19th century, history of the Russian Orthodox Church, quantitative methods in historical studies.
